On Saturday, Nov. 14, Wheeling’s literary magazine, Circus, will hold a fundraiser at Barnes and Noble.
The fundraiser will be held from 9 a.m to 10 p.m at the Arlington Heights Barnes and Noble located on W. Rand Road.
Circus hosts the fundraiser each November so that they can raise money for the publication of their yearly magazine.
The fundraiser includes events such as story time, caricatures, open-mic poetry, an acoustic concert and other activities.
“I have put a lot of planning into this fundraiser especially with the planning of the acoustic concert,” Sam Rosen, senior and three-year Circus member, said.
In order to gain more attendants, circus members and advisers are distributing flyers.
A percentage of each ticket sale will be donated to Circus.
“The money that we make will go towards publishing costs, additional color pages, and in the past we have even done a CD,” Christine Pacyk, Circus adviser, said.
There is also a group on Facebook in which many students can RSVP for the event.
“I went to it once and heard music and saw poems being read… I really want to go this year,” Audrey Amador, senior, said.
Circus members will also wrap gifts near the store entrance throughout the day.
