Wildcat football defeats Mundelein at home game

The Fold performs at back-to-school concert

The concert took place in the stadium at the end of the school day.  During the day, the school was on pep assembly schedule.  After 9th period, students and staff went out to the stadium.  The Fold, made up of Dan Castady, lead vocalist and guitarist; George Castady, guitarist and vocalist; Matt Pittman, bassist and vocalist; and Mark Rhoades, drummer, played both original songs and covers. Freshmen attend annual orientation, activity fair

Photos by Megan Jones, Editor-in-Chief, and Kristina Piamonte, Photo Editor Freshmen orientation took place from 7:25 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Aug. 16.  The peer mentors led the incoming freshmen in a tour around WHS, classroom activities and going through the mock schedule.  At the end, the freshmen attended an assembly and an activity fair, where students promoted different extracurricular activities and sports. Musto competes in Nationals, wins silver medal

                            by Megan Jones, Editor-in-Chief Jess Musto, senior, headed to Orlando, Fl. and won a silver medal in a “Star Competition” for fashion during the week of July 9, after qualifying at Regionals and State for the Family Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) design competition. “It was definitely nerve-wracking because you are at high stakes and want to do your best, but at the same time you know you have made it to Nationals, which is an accomplishment in itself,” Musto said. WHS says goodbye, honors Cadle

by Megan Jones, Editor-in-Chief A standing ovation was held for Margaret Cadle, special education assistant, for her retirement after 69 years in education. Cadle was surprised to see staff members joined in the front of the school and forming two lines for Cadle to walk through. She was also surprised with flowers, balloons, and a limousine ride to a party celebrating her service  and the end of the school year. When asked to make a speech, Cadle looked out to the crowd and said “I love you all.” Cadle has worked with Township High School District 214 for 49 years and held…
