Varsity girls swimming placed 11th out of 12th at the Mid-Suburban League Swimming Meet on Oct. 27 at Barrington High School.
Some highlights of the meet included the personal best times for Theresa Godlewski, sophomore, and Adrienne Rozmus, freshman.
Godlewski broke the school record for the 100 yard backstroke once again, with a time of 1:00:46. She also made a personal best in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 54:81.
“I felt pretty good because it was more than a whole second off my previous record,” Godlewski said. “When you look at the clock, it just proves to yourself all the hard work you put into it was worth it.”
Rozmus dropped 17 seconds in the 500 yard freestyle, with a time of 6:07.
“All of our girls had personal bests,” Katharine Schwarz, senior, said. “I think it was a really good season. We did a lot better than in past years.”
According to Rachel Ropski, junior, at the meet, many girls broke their personal bests. She made a personal best of 1:20.48 in the 100 yard breaststroke.
The Wildcats currently prepare for IHSA Sectionals, which will take place Nov. 10.
“We improved a lot over the season. From the looks of the MSL conference, we should all be doing well in two weeks,” Ropski said.
