This year, freshmen were given information about a program called Signs of Suicide, also known as S.O.S. This program for teens teaches about the symptoms of depression, specifically suicidal thoughts. Because of these dangerously high statistics, the nation has recognized October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in order to raise awareness, educate the public on the disease and raise money for research.
