Genson, Kholodov focus on music, pursue careers at early ages

by Megan Jones, Editor-in-Chief While contemporary and electronic music do not seem to have much in common from a listener’s standpoint, comparisons can be seen between composers Michael Genson and Matt Kholodov, seniors. Contemporary Music Genson began composing music his freshman year. “As soon as I get home from school, I begin to compose,” Genson said. “I’m a big fan of contemporary and band music.” According to Genson, contemporary music provides the most variety of orchestration styles, techniques and complexity to alter with, as opposed to the 4-5-1, bass, guitar, drums and vocals of pop music. Gama fights for career

This year, President Barack Obama’s executive order made Deferred Action possible for students. With Deferred Action, C. CNA students get certified in nursing

by Lupe Herrera, Asst. La Voz Editor   For the first time through WHS, students graduated and became Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA’s) on May 20 at Harper College. After students officially graduate from WHS, they can work as a CNA. There are a series of three classes in order to become a CNA: Introduction to Health Careers, Medical Terminology and CNA.  In order to be certified as a CNA, students need to take all there classes. “I just think it’s an amazing opportunity for students that are interested in a medical field; this would definitely be the place to be,”…
