District 214 celebrates student creativity in Fine Arts Anthology

by Erika Pogorzelska, Staff Reporter Several students’ art and writing have been published in this year’s District 214 Fine Arts Anthology, a literary magazine that collects students’ art and poetry from all of the schools in the district. Art and creative writing teachers submit a student’s writing or art entries.  Students who were published were recognized at a ceremony on April 10 at Forest View. “The nice thing about the magazine is how there’s no ‘Wheeling Section’ or ‘BG Section’; it’s a cohesive feature,” Laura Wagner, English teacher, said.

Circus holds annual fundraiser

by Kelly McKewin, Staff Reporter Anyone who looks to buy new books and support WHS’s literary magazine, Circus, can come to the Barnes & Noble in Arlington Heights on Saturday Nov. 10 for its sixth annual fundraiser, which will start at 9 a.m. Many students involved in Circus will help out at the fundraiser this year. “I’m going to be doing caricatures and gift wrapping,” Stephanie Rivo, senior, said.
