The Philippines – June 15

by Rosalie Chan, Web & News Editor At 12:35 a.m. earlier today, I arrived in Manila, Philippines.  I flew from Chicago to Hong Kong, and from Hong Kong, I connected flights to Manila.  I almost did not get a seat on the plane because apparently, the flight was overbooked.  Luckily, I did, and flying went well overall. As I sat in the plane, an approximately 15-hour flight, I felt strangely lonely.  I had always flown with family, but this was my first time traveling alone.  I read the book “Insurgent” by Veronica Roth until the plane turned off all the…
