Wheeling town center in development, promises theater, shops

by Megan Jones, Editor-in-Chief Teens of WHS will have a new hangout zone in 2014, as a new development rises to Wheeling. The proposed town center will include retail buildings, an apartment complex and a movie theater. The shovels have yet to hit the dirt though, as the Village of Wheeling and developers Urban R2, struggle with an agreed term sheet. Urban R2 was given a deadline of March 15. International Thespian Society recognizes students involved in theater

Its an honorary organization internationally recognized. “Everyone in the entire school can benefit from knowing about it, because our program needs more interest and if people knew that there was someone recognizing them for that interest and is there to help promote interest, it would definitely help the entire program” Celine Dirkes, junior, said. New Additions to Fine Arts: International Thespian Society

by Jessie Livingston, Graphics Editor, and Megan Jones, Editor-in-Chief Arriving for the first time at WHS, the International Thespian Society, sponsored by Derek Ellertson, technology technician, offers a way to give recognition for those greatly involved in fine arts and thespian activities. As one branch of the ITS, WHS allows anyone to join the club and attend meetings, but only a select few can become official members. Official membership permit one access to special scholarships, looks good on college applications and can be recognized at the senior recognition assembly.
